From Watershed Central Wiki
I am an Environmental Engineer with the Non-Point Source Pollution Branch in the EPA Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds. I'm originally from MI, and my background is in watershed modeling. I've most extensively used HEC-HMS (including ArcHMS), MODFLOW (for groundwater modeling), and SWAT. I've also had some exposure to SWMM, the Site Evaluation Tool, HSPF, and other models commonly used in watershed management.
My former roles include:
- University of Maryland, Baltimore County: Graduate Research Assistant (groundwater modeling and associated field work, included aiding in some urban ecology related field work)
- Michigan State University (MSU): Engineering Assistant (stormwater modeling, bioretention design, and other general consulting work on their NPDES Phase II MS4 permit)
- USDA - NRCS: Agricultural Engineering trainee, NE Indiana (designing ag BMP's)
- USACE - Detroit: Civil engineering intern (Hydraulics office, using GIS to generate near shore bathymetry profiles on Lake Michigan, to study changes over time)
I also worked as a research assistant for some MSU Extension projects, including innovative techniques for disposal manure slurry and IPM for nematodes in MI.
