Watershed Overview

Totaling over 857 square miles, the Thornapple River Watershed has approximately 324 miles of streams and rivers that flow into the Lower Grand River Watershed. Over 67% of the watershed area is use for agricultural practices.

Between 1996 and 2001, there has been a slight increase in developed land, farmland, forest, and wetland, and a slight decrease in grassland.
