Monroe County Watershed Alliance

The Monroe County Watershed Alliance (MCWA) is a coalition of conservation organizations, agencies, municipalities, and citizens that are striving to maintain the environmental/ecological integrity of the watersheds in Monroe County, PA. The MCWA is led by the Monroe County Conservation District and includes the following watershed groups: The Aquashicola/Pohopoco Watershed Conservancy, The Brodhead Watershed Association, The North Pocono C.A.R.E., The Shawnee Watershed Conservancy, and The Tobyhanna Creek/Tunkhannock Creek Watershed Association.

Past MCWA projects include: a storm drain marking project, development of a watershed and NPS pollution newspaper insert, and the coordination of four annual watershed festivals (titled WaterWaze) for 6th graders.
